COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
This list gives an overview of my teaching range. I have also taught mixed level classes of traditional Drawing and Painting, Theatre Arts and Performance Art, as well as all aspects of Video Production. "Foundations in Digital Media" can easily be adapted to emphasize the Foundational study of 2D Design, or Color Theory, integrating traditional and digital media in the curriculum.
1. BEGINNING DRAWING: Active Seeing
Traditional materials and methods for seeing in a fresh way.
2. INTERDICIPLINARY PERFORMANCE:
Developing Practical and Conceptual Skills in Action
A studio for Visual and Theatre artists to gain strength, train, explore and collaborate. A survey of past Avant Garde and current New Genre strategies a will fertilize studio practice.
3. 3D CONCEPTS: Foundations in Three-Dimensional Thinking and Making
3-D expression, from conception through drawing and 3-D modeling, to construction and presentation.
5. TIME-BASED ART: Body, Site, and Technology
Time-Based Studio, for artists of various disciplines to explore installation, performance, and video art. Survey of the “lineage” of Time-Based Art.
4. BEGINNING SCULPTURE: Integration of Idea and Form
Making material into meaning; an intro to traditional materials.
6. INSTALLATION SCULPTURE: The Shape of Space
A studio for understanding and creating Installation Art.
7. DRAWING CONNECTIONS
An advanced drawing class that incites socially based art making.
